Bowie & Dick Test Packs are pre-assembled, single use test packs designed to evaluate the performance of the air removal system of pre-vacuum assisted sterilizers in compliance with EN 285 and operating at 134 C and 3.5 minutes.

An indicator sheet printed with water based, non-toxic chemical indicator is places in the center of each pack. The uniform color change of the indicator after steam sterilization indicates that all air was removed and replaced by steam.

The backside of the indicator sheet contains fields to be filled out and it can be kept as a permanent record for traceability purposes.

The indicator sheet of this test guarantees an excellent colour change from light blue to an even dark colour and allows for a clear interpretation. The Test Pack complies with EN-ISO 11140-1 (Type 2) and EN-ISO 11140-4. The ink is applied to the test sheet through silk screen printing, which ensures that exactly the same amount of ink is used at all times.

The test sheet is laminated to prevent any ink from coming off. The production of all Bowie & Dick Type Autoclave Test Packs is an automised process under conditioned circumstances. The advantages are that the packs are totally reproducible and the test sheet will stay flat after the sterilization cycle. Full conformity certification for this product has been issued.
